The void of distance is nowhere else at the crossroads of the arts, sciences and literature.
The emptiness of distance is nowhere else is the paper editorial extension of the multimedia installation “This Is Major Tom To Ground Control”, a random text generator controlled by receiving and analysing radio waves from the cosmos, received in real time by a radio telescope of the Observatoire de Paris.
The artist wanted to highlight this relentlessness of the human being “To make meaning at all costs with everything that comes to hand – and often with what is not intended to have any. In The emptiness of distance is nowhere else, this making of meaning is replayed by the Man-Machine Cosmos interaction.
To build this book, we had to look for magic between the lines while diving in the immensity of the corpus thus constituted: to extract fragments, to assemble them patiently, to recompose a narrative. The emptiness of distance is nowhere else is graphic book, navigating between poetry and surrealism.
